After Greeta said she was going to paint the MSI cartiyds (sp?) I dug out this pic of my mom in front of them and did a quick sketch. Y shadows are way too dark but it was kind of fun looking for different shades of gray, etc for the building and figuring out how to make the ladies stand out with few details.

Yes, the boy and cat works well. A fine color palette, too! I like the way you go to yellow/purple to make grays—I go to either of the other complementary pairs first. You raise an interesting point about the trading cards. I hadn't thought of it before, but ideally, they should be sealed if they're a delicate medium, shouldn't they? Your marker ATM has a very Matisse vibe. I like it!
