Color mixing…


 My intention (remember when we wrote out intentions? Maybe we should reinstate that practice…) was to make a mundane subject interesting by mixing colors on the paper and using glazes. I’m reading Greeta’s book on Making colors sing and the more I read the more confused I get…


Here’s the finished A Boy and His Cat…Might try this again with fewer neutrals…

  1. Interesting window the foreground (the wall and window) is more muted than the foreground (the house next door). But really of course the foreground is the background. Like the cat's pink ear but I don't find its stripes fuzzy enough.

  2. Okay, that first painting IS interesting. You really can handle yellow and purple. I like the way you separated inside and outside by using neutrals to surround the brighter, clearer colors.
