Clouds Re-Do


I (Allison) wanted to attempt a re-do on the clouds from my ice skating ribbon painting last Saturday. Trying a more wet on wet technique. I like how they turned out :)
While I like the wet on wet clouds better, I think the original clouds/sky is growing on me. It feels like it fits with the rest of the painting.

    I like both versions--especially adding the pink light to the clouds--but I agree with you. The harder-edged clouds fit better with the style of the landscape you did. It has such a lovely graphic quality.

    The clouds alone are pretty, and I also like the ones above Maggie Daley Park. They aren't realistic but they go with the urban Grandma Moses goes downtown vibe.

    I like the personal artistic growth in the clouds. We can all learn something about gouache from you two.

    The shapes are more interesting in the wet on wet clouds, but the ones in the painting work well with everything else.
