Satisfied that I have softened the background buildings, I am calling it done. The actual painting doesn’t have that drastic variation in the sky. It is 10-3/4 x 13-3/4 which fits into a standard 16x20 mat.
Yes, I'd consider this done. It has a painterly, illustrative quality and really evokes a mood. There's a story here and it makes me want to look longer. Beautiful! I love the color choices too.
