No time to paint last week as I decided to crochet a butterfly and cocoon for Quinn’s 4th birthday. I was lucky I could pick up a paintbrush after five days of picking up and dropping stitches….
Here’s my final double portrait, which I finished in class yesterday. Here, I’ll reprise the other two below.
They all have their merits and distractions! What l leaned was start with a better source material…not a tiny blurry washed out photo!
That cocoon and butterfly is adorable! Quinn must be delighted. I like your dual portrait too. It seems like you take the best of each iteration and bring it to the final. Love the white halos and the modeling. Even with a vague reference, you've got real people there!
ReplyDeleteStill like the first one best.
ReplyDeleteahhh, great crocheting. I like that you did 3 renditions of the subject. And it's true, each has it's merits. But I do like the last one best. The clothes are more subdued, so the faces are more noticeable and the bits of white around them highlight that.
ReplyDeleteI like the last one better too, a little more movement, a little jazzier too.
