Pretty abstract, but I do have a subject. Getting a lot of transaction with the gum arabic as far as moving paint around, putting it down wet, blotting it, then putting down more paint and blotting it etc.
Oh, yes, this is really coming along. I like the graphic quality and the rich, but limited palette. The paint movement makes for some really lovely texture, too. Obviously gum arabic is working well for you.
Pretty abstract but I do have a subject? There’s a contradiction in terms — if it’s abstract there is no subject! Semantics aside, I like the perspective of looking down from above. It has a very starry starry night feel imo.
The definition I go by is that if there is no subject and it is just paint, like the one I did before this one then it is non-representational. If it has a subject but the artist is just riffing on that, making changes that would result in a better composition or whatever then it is abstract.

DeleteI like this. I have a couple bottles of gum Arabic and I might have to try some. Have to find it first.
