January 13, 2024 — Elaine O.

Halfway through the first month of the new year and I'm still not back in my groove. As is my wont, though, I finished last week's painting. I'm not happy with all of it, but I do like it as a sketchy memory of a moment in time—especially the beatific expression Dave wore the entire time. We really had a good time!

Sur le Pont Neuf    11"x14"

Now I'm going to try ironing the painting to see if the blue Frixion lines really do come off with heat. Honestly, though, it wouldn't bother me if they didn't.

  1. This looks good; Dave is seated, and happy, with that jaunty scarf around his neck.He kind of steals the show with his blue blue jacket, which is a bit of a shame, as the background is so lovely. The blue lines are not at all distracting, but I am interested in seeing what happens when you iron a painting!

  2. Blue Boy. Like the coldness of everything except the foliage. I can t really see the blue lines. I think having them blue makes them fade into the background anyway.

  3. I am thinking of that el painting with all the blues. Here you have blue in only one place and it looks good. Like the whimsical bridge and those vaporous clouds.

  4. What blue lines? Dave is one happy camper sitting there with his Parisian scarf. What a lovely painting.
