I got the news that one of my favorite Mississippi bar singers passed away. I did this Yupo portrait of him and always intended to give it to the bar owner as a memory. Now I can’t find him but I did dig this out of my files. I had no photo of it. But now I do.
Now for something completely different. I found this sweet black and white picture of mother and child that I always wanted to paint.
Love how the style matches the subject. The singer has color and energy and the mother and child are so soft and tenderly painted. Especially like the composition on the first and the light on the second.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Elaine. Love the softness of the colors in the mother and child and the way you’ve painted her collar and dress. The light is just lovely…
ReplyDeleteI agree with Elaine. Really like the way you’ve painted her dress and collar and the light is lovely.
ReplyDeleteNot like you but very likeable. I'm guessing the forties, mother and child at home while Dad is with the army driving south up Italy.
