I'm back to my panoramic paper, painting something soft and sweet—a sprig of cherry blossoms against a clear spring sky. Sort of a palate cleanser after chronicling all the senseless destruction across the street. Once again, this is something that looks deceptively simple, but is taking more time and concentration than expected. We'll see what happens once I add in the darks.

So far so good. I like the way the sky lightens as you look upward.
