I was worried that the dead part of the leaf were too different from the live (green) parts, so I have begun putting texture into them and I think this just might work.
I think you want the dead parts to be different. What you're doing to the greens is good--makes them more lively than the dead brown bits. And the warm rich brown on the edges of the tear are perfect. Don't lose them (by adding the wrong color adjacent to them, for instance)!
The dead parts are different from the live parts….they’re dead! Don’t get too hung up on those lines….

ReplyDeleteI guess I just caught onto what is happening. The whitish parts represent tears…there is no leaf there?
