We did the five minute warm-ups again! Same as before — we have 5 minutes to paint a hitherto unseen reference photo. The purpose? To get us loosened up, warmed up and ready to paint. Ken finished his moonscape in only 4 minutes.
Sara did a portrait.
Bryan did an interior...
...as did Dan.Allison made us all hungry with these delicious cookies...
... and Elaine attempted a flurry of parrots.
As always, the five minutes went by all too quickly, but we had fun.
We are getting pretty damn good at this. How about if we cut it down to four minutes, or if we painted with our teeth, or how about this, and I am a little serious here. We get thirty seconds to examine the photo with brushes down and then we have to turn it over and paint what is left in our memories?
ReplyDeleteI would try that. That would be a great way to improve our "looking" skills--different than the current warmups, but an equally valuable skill to hone.
DeleteThat sounds fun and hard Ken! Let's do it!
