This is done.
Now this is no masterpiece, but compared to how it looked when I left class yesterday, it’s somewhat improved.I’m not sure what that brown streak is, maybe the shadow of my iPad when taking the pictures.this is the first time I’ve drawn little figures in the background and they’re not half bad.A learning exercise and I’ve learned this pose doesn’t quite work….
The first one is definitely done. It's just lovely! Adding the small people to the second painting really creates a path for the viewer's eye and the trees balance the space to the right of the figures. Good compositional calls. All I'd adjust next time is the pose.
ReplyDeleteWell now we’re talking. I love the guy in the hat with his back to us. The value changes really help the first couple. I admire the courage it takes to place the little people in the background - something I have a difficult time doing myself.
ReplyDeleteYup those stripes really perk up that blanket, nice composition all around. The guy looks better than in class but shouldn't there be some space between his beard and her knees?
ReplyDeleteThe orangeish blanket has connected the dark hat and shirt on the man to the dark hair and pants on the woman. And that connection really makes this work.
ReplyDeleteOn the second one, the woman looks like her butt is up on a hill. Maybe it was??
