This is interesting, almost like looking at photograph of the kernels thru the painted husks. Kind of the same effect as the cat in front of the stripes. But I still think the husks need more work. Or maybe it’s done….
Wow! I love how you're playing with flat graphic elements vs. almost photographic elements. The push pull between them gives such nice movement and really adds to the foreground/background distinction. Keep going on this series. It's really interesting!
Yes, it's much stronger. You know my thoughts: 1) why not paint new things rather than repainting your old paintings; and 2) why abandon the sepia-only series you had started so successfully?
