sepia one and two

After a couple months of wandering in the wilderness I have decided that I will be revisiting some of what I consider my greatest hits, and doing them again predominately in sepia with small touches of earth colors.

I like the contrast between the background and foreground.  I am planning on adding small touches of those background colors to Annie and that should finish it.

This will be the next one and it comes from my corn period.

  1. Wow! I really like the graphic quality of this new direction. There's more emphasis on value and less on color, but I see the color working back in. This is going to be great.

  2. Annie looks great against the finished background. She really pops , almost collage like, like b&w photo against the color.very modern vibe. Don’t touch her, it’s done.

  3. I see a movement toward stripes. That will be good. It looks like light behind her.

  4. Way to go Ken. Limiting color is allowing your painting to become even stronger, and more striking.
