I did like last week's vast expanse of sky, but I'm okay with this one, gently rippling with the summer heat. I like the composition, with the road leading us into the painting and back around to the sun.
I like the textures in this painting: the sky, the leaves, the grass. Perhaps the sun needs a similar treatment or a change in value or something. Those unfinished goalposts are more of a distraction imo; they need something too. Especially the large one on the far right edge - it takes me right out of the painting…
When I look at your post on February 25 and the lovely sky, I don’t know why you think that this one is better. Less is more.
