In Chicago, this is a shot of my favorite stir fried meal being prepared….pork ribbons with peppers over crispy fried Chinese noodle pancakes.
My color choice for the shirt,French ultramarine, has gone blotchy. I’ll give it one more try but it’s reaching the point of no return.

I like the joy of cooking in this joyful painting. It invites the viewer to have a conversation with the cook, to be inside the kitchen, to smell the ingredients being stir fried. Bon Appétit!
ReplyDeleteNow you're making me hungry, Greeta. I really like this painting--and your kitchen! You've managed to perfectly describe the stove, the heat and the cabinets--very nice job!
ReplyDeleteI like all the details - the glimpses of the apron, the spoons, the details in the jeans - really well painted. And I like the point of view — the contrast of the tight crop vs. his monumental nature and his focus on the task.
