Second bream 2

If you click on your image once you insert it, and hit + a few times you can make it bigger.  The fish is done.  Thinking about the water.  I want to use bigger, simpler tiles.  Something different than the fish but not too different, you know what I mean.

Having a little opening this afternoon at the Ten Cat at 3:30.  If anybody wants to drop by you are welcome, but I fully understand if you don't.

  1. Congratulations! Hope you have a great opening.

So, this is done? I don't know if the background feels undone because I know you and this feels too much like white for you—or if it really needs something else. Also, I'm intrigued by the outline of the fish and a few of the tiles. Somehow, the tile outlines are okay, but the thin black line around the fish feels a bit off—like it's not part of the same painting. It's not mosaic-like and has a sharp feel that the rest of the painting doesn't have. I do love the colors on the fish tiles--it's got the feel of cut glass or jewels.

  2. Wait--I just re-read this and noticed that I may have misinterpreted things. It's the FISH that's done, not the whole painting. Sorry! So ignore my comments about the background and carry on!

    1. Yeah that line outside the fish is the edge where the water tiles will begin. They will be outlined by dark lines like that. Kind of interested in watercolor pencils right now.

  3. I'm loving the tiles, especially the green and purplle ones (my two favorite colors). I'm hoping the water tiles won't oversshadow the tones of the bream tilles. BTW, "bream" is growing on me as a Cool Animal Name!

  4. Yes, I read it wrong too, and thought you said it was done. Glad it's still in progress. The "tiles" look great they way you've painted them. Can't wait to see the water ones. Hope that definite thin line dissolves...
