Beautiful portrait. You really captured the highlights in his coat and that dog expression of “what’s next?” Very atmospheric color studies. The red and green is almost a landscape painting!
These are wonderful. That portrait is going to make someone very happy. You've got the shape and texture beautifully (not easy on a black dog) and he has personality. Complementary colors! What a cool thing to play around with. They really do give different feels, even though they are the same image.
You don't need any help from me on the eyes, or anything for that matter.
Love the complementary color studies, I did three of them on a steam locomotive years ago, will bring them yo class Saturday, hope to see yours. Did you use just one hue for each color, which ones?
