new fish 2

I think this fellow is almost done, maybe the water needs a bit more punch.

  1. Sparkle, sparkle-don’t touch the water! It glitters and sparkles like water in the sunlight. I also like the strands of what I think are seaweed, the way they undulate in the water. If anything the fish needs to come up to the level of the background imo. The bottom rows of tiles need the punch. Nice work tho...

  2. No--don't touch the water! That background is wonderful. It's like being underwater on a sunny day and the water is sparkling in the sun. The seaweed is a great addition, too. Right now, I think the background overshadows the fish, so maybe you'll want to tweak the fish. Because it's so sunny, maybe darkening the bottom of the fish to shadow it in the sun?

  3. Yeah, water and seaweed is working for you. Compositionally, the fish looks cut off. Maybe if some of the seaweed floated in front of the fish, or if the value got darker toward the cut off side. Something happening so it just doesn't look abruptly cut-off. Or another fish overlapping...

  4. The colorful fish is missing something (his bottom half? or some other reason!) inspite of his beautiful world of blues and greens. Hope he finds his happiness soon!
