Chubby new fish

Just made the tiles of the water more defined.

Just two days into this guy.  Expanding from the eye but otherwise no hard plans.

  1. The top one works much better now. The subject and background is integrated well. And I really like the personality of that guy. If he was in a cartoon, he'd be that tough little dog with the bowler hat cocked over his eye. Good start on the chubby little guy. He's going to be a cutie. When you're finished, you'll have a whole family, with backstories.

  2. That is one tough fish you painted there, Ken. He's got fish rage and is on a mission. Stand back, everyone.

Looks like you've got another good one lined up. It's going to be interesting to see them altogether. Who would've thought fishes would have such different "personalities"?

  3. Whatever you did seems to pop the fish to the foreground. The second one hasn’t yet sprung to life for me- he looks like the proverbial dead fish...I don’t know why, but your paintings are the hard3st to grasp in this virtual format. I can’t quite figure out why...

    1. I kind of agree with you on that. I think it is mostly because they are so big and the jpg is so small and a lot of the detail is lost, and I am really into detail. Nothing makes my heart sing like dabbing several colors atop each other in the crevices of some tiny details

I've always said you get me Sara.
