So who is this shadowy man of mystery? Guesses range from 007 to a French philosopher holding forth in a cafe with a gauloise. Actually, it's Dave, lunching at Versailles. This is a rough color/value sketchbook study, meant to figure out the backlighting situation.

I like the philosopher idea. Is that building a gummint building. What's the name of the bistro? I can look it up on google Earth. And let's get a Gauloise in the corner of his mouth, a chocolate one if he is a DaDa philosopher.
ReplyDeleteHe's not at a bistro, he's at the Palace of Versailles. So I guess that is an actual gummint building--but back in the time of Louis XIV-VI.
