Alan Spring 3

Although I don’t know nuthin’ ‘bout boats this was the assignment in our class this week. I liked it.

A little landscape painting of Front Beach. On 140# coldpress.

Beginning of a Yupo painting of an Aloe plant in the backyard. This is just the “tea layer.”

  1. All of these look great...and they're even better when you enlarge them to see more clearly. I like the delicate use of line in the top two paintings. What size are these, by the way?

  2. The boats are 7 X 11. The landscape is 8 1/2 X 11. The aloe is 11 X 14.

  3. The boats are okay, but they have no pop. Is that leaf green you are using on the landscape? Now that pops, but the sky is, it's just blue is all.

    1. Sometimes the sky is just blue. It’s something I liked about it.

  4. Well done with the boats, I especially like the way you captured the water and reflections too. And the little landscape sketch with all that detail works great with the bright expanse of blue sky. TBD on the Yupo, early days.

  5. Lovely sketches - those boats have a lot of pop imo, and I like the shadows in the water. Aloe sketch shows promise.
