Back from vacation! I took a sketchbook and actually used it, too. But, while it was fun and relaxing up in Wisconsin, I haven't done much painting since. I finished my Bird of Paradise—every so slowly. I will admit that my eye for greens was fine-tuned by my time in the Northwoods.

I'm not sure what's next, but I think I need a break from all the green.
As Professor Leaf Guy, I think the leaves could be darker and have more intense geometrical veining to contrast with the wild Bird of Paradise. Or you could just remove the bird and put another leaf in the foreground. Oh yeah, that's the ticket.
ReplyDeleteAgree with Ken sort of. Veining is perfectly fine imo. I’d like to see stronger colors on the flower itself but I don’t know how you would do it. I think maybe the darks that aren’t green could be even darker.
