Just had a pacemaker installed after my heartbeat went way too low, so I haven’t done much painting. I’m fine but am soooooo bored waiting to be released to go home. I did finish the painting of my son in law Jacques at the lake
I have plans to try this again using other papers but have to wait until I get home to do it.
Big headed guy. Like the blues in the shirt. I wish her dress was brighter red so as to complete the primary color triad. Maybe the top of his head could be further above or below the horizon.
ReplyDeleteGreat portrait painting in profile! Please get well soon Alan! Warm wishes of recovery to you and Greeta!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better! I do like this portrait alot. I also find myself in the odd position of agreeing with Ken about the top of the head touching the horizon. And I'd darken or brighten the red to better frame his face.
ReplyDeleteLove the way this is painted and the composition; the horizon doesn’t bother me. You really captured the feel of an outdoor summer cafe. He looks like he’s ready to tell you a million stories….hope you’re on the mend — there’s a lot of heart in this painting!
