What are you painting …
Well, this turned into a nice portrait of my neighbor’s garage! What I thought was the background kind of grabs focus imo. Or maybe it just balances the foreground table and chair. I think I was influenced by seeing the Van Gogh exhibition…not so much by Van Gogh but all those Seurats and Signacs with their little dots of color. Just wish the flowers stood up better to the other elements of the painting…

I like what you've done, Sara. The table and chair are brilliant! I think you can salvage the flowers if you make them a little more saturated. The white edges and the green/gold foliage will make them sparkle. It's what you already have but more.
ReplyDeleteThat garage looks classic and solid, a little standoffish. The deck furniture looks modern and easy going. Have a seat neighbor and how bout a strawberry daiquiri? The birdbath looks lonely but hopeful. And the fat vegetation soaks in the sun. Lazing on a summer Sunday afternoon.
ReplyDeleteWell, you’ve reached another level. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteCool composition. Just throw some opera on those flowers.
