Alan summer 2

I finished my watercolor on Yupo of a live oak grove in Ocean Springs. I like the looseness of this.

I began a watercolor on hot press of irises. I mistakenly used hot instead of cold and that’s going to change the methodology that I use.

  1. Oh yes, lazy crazy daze of early summer, I can sense the blooms popping and the young bunnies hopping and just on the other side of the hill the spring breakers chugging Colt 45. Really like this, the universe in harmony and smiling just a bit smugly about that.

  2. I love the tree! Probably one of my favorites of yours. And I know you SAY you don't like hot press, but the irises are coming out beautifully. And really, hot press and Yupo are almost cousins aren't they?

    1. The paint does flow and combine like typo but you cannot go back to white. Particularly true with staining colors.
