This is the Illinois monument in the Military Park at Vicksburg, Mississippi. It is the largest building there. Inside there are brass plaques with the names of the 36,000+ soldiers from Illinois who fought in the battle. After years of painting, I still have not learned to do a good flat wash. Am watching videos on the horizontal “bead”. It looks easy. Something to practice.
Beautiful sky and grass. The color variations in the grass really give the feeling of gently rolling hills…

ReplyDeleteLove the grass, like the cannons, the sky is good, but the trees and the monument don't have much of a presence.
