Plantita

Plantita is a portmanteau of the word "plant"& "tita" meaning aunt or a caring person. The male version is Plantito! Pandemic brought stress relievers to all of us courtesy of Costco, Jewel Supermart & Gethsemane Gardens. Home gardening is an inexpensive &  accessible hobby where a quarantined person takes delight in caring for domestic plants that requires TLC of watering, pruning & music. It is a delightful pleasure to watch these green stuff thrive while the rest of the world are in ERs or using ventilators! This painting is based on a hanging plant from Costco that flourished in front of my house during the summer of 2020! I never knew the names of the flowers which are of varying hues of purple, red, orange, pink ! It was a difficult subject! Flowers & leaves have myriad shapes & positions. All I have is a diagonal composition running from top left to lower right with a huge earthen color s

hape as a huge pot in the center. The leaves and blossoms explode from the center & fell at the bottom. My objective was a projection of colors and light! Happy Painting to all!
