June 27, 2020 — Elaine O.

Another week without much to show! I've begun another portrait. I seem to be concentrating on color paths in these last few. I think I'll call it a series and see if I'm interested enough in continuing  that exploration.

  1. I love the delicacy of the color fades! It really lets the paint speak for itself, and it feels very watery. It's kind of letting the paint move around the paper on its own, and sneaking in with an occasional brushstroke to bring out thee likeness of your subject.

  2. Well, it’s a start, and a good one at that. I like the red on his ear and how it’s picked up around his eyes. Your color fades are so perfect. I’m really into to trying to mix colors on the page and going with the flow, so to speak. To me it comes across as the essence of watercolor.

  3. Just lovely so far. Is that Dave? It's amazing how you can get so much information down with such minimal detail.
