I'm still working through my panoramic paper—this time, in a vertical orientation. This is a corner of the Courtyard in the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. The courtyard is full of Roman, Byzantine, Gothic, and Renaissance elements, columns and decorations. Despite all that, it feels very light, romantic and Venetian.

It's not finished yet, but my intent is to capture my impression of being there and not get caught up in too many details.
Nice long drink of water, certainly a companion to the horizontal Boston. I would like to see that building edge and the pillars a brighter shade of red, or something bright and similar in color. Not that I know what I am doing or anything.
ReplyDeleteMy eye is just drawn to those two windows at the top, so maybe Ken’s right, the right edge needs to be more emphatic to lead the eye down the page. Or maybe the greenery in the middle needs some stronger color to lead the eye down.
