The Little Engine at the awkward age

In every painting I have ever done there is always a low point where I don't know what I am doing, and that's where this one is at.  It's been a struggle, but I'll keep my head down and continue.

  1. Your low point looks better than mine do. I'd say to keep at it. I know it's going to be good! I like the composition and the sharp edges. It feels like Art Deco.

  2. I agree — you’re going somewhere. You’ve got a lot of detail work going on. Maybe look at bigger shapes? Or maybe just stop thinking about it and paint. I would like to take my own advice.....

  3. I think it has a steampunk feel to it! Give your brush free rein and see where it goes.

  4. Nice color combo of pale yellow/gray blue. Also, interesting with the straight up frontal view along side the deep perspective. Even you matting goes with it!
