I like this! In person, the values seemed stronger, somehow. I'm amazed at the amount of detail you were able to get into such a tiny painting and the beautiful range of neutrals in the background. The only thing I notice now is that maybe you want to add a shadow or something to ground him? He seems to be floating or giving off "Stranger Things" vibes.

ReplyDeleteActually I like that he’s ascending and that his head reaches the ceiling. And those overhead lights kinda look like clouds.
DeleteI kind of like the thick red lines. Gives it a lot of energy. Give him a little smile along with the shadow….
ReplyDeleteThe red and yellow does not play well with the rest of the dress. I'd give him a bigger head even if that is not in the photo.
