Two trees and um, an adventure?

Twisted Sisters?

 Needs to be fluffier huh?

Beginning of my next adventure?

  1. I like the textures on the first painting, as well as the "aura" around the right hand tree. It feels like it's dancing with another tree in the background. Yes, the middle tree needs to be "fluffier", but more by softening the edges than by filling in all the sky holes. That would make it feel like a lollipop. I can't believe I'm saying this about the panorama paintings, but that newspaper is distracting me! Once I've blocked it out, I like the two at the bottom. They feel immersive somehow—like I'm in a round room and these are painted on the walls surrounding me. I don't know what's with that first one—maybe the even number of manmade objects? maybe their regularity? Not sure, but something. Keep going with the panoramas. That format makes (almost) any subject automatically interesting, I think.

  2. Love that top painting, especially how you carved the branches out of the paint. Los of movement both in the subject and background. Second painting reminds me of a negative of a photograph. Yes the newspaper is distracting! These little strips aren’t really doing much for me…but who knows where you’re going with them….
