More of the same….

I think all three of these are finished. I did another version of the banana plant and pot in class as a birthday card, but I forgot to photograph it before mailing it. I actually think it was a little better than this one. The middle panting is another version of the tree, which I like better than the first one (see last weeks feed) but it’s much different, so it’s hard to compare them. The sunset painting is done, imo, and I’m pretty happy with it. I put a blue wash over the sky, which really took it back in intensity and helped immensely. The girls and the bush are at different intensities, but I like that.

  1. Such an example of "practice makes perfect." These get better with every iteration. I think I like the second plant better too, but only because of the vibe the warmer background gives. Those trees are different seasons and have different feels. I can't be sure which I like better, but today, it's the autumn one above. Sunsets are hard, but you've nailed it. I think the glaze unified just enough and the intensity of the backlit foreground figures is perfect, especially the way they change as you get further from the sun.

  2. Love that vase, is that water or glaze dripping down it? The table or floor is holding its weight now, but those leaves need a little more heft.

I liked the leaf better before when it was more higgedly piggedly.

Really like the silhouette girls, looks like they have come out on top of one of those dystopia movies, except it looks like some coyotes are about to jump out of that bush.

  3. Really like what you’ve done with banana plant background. I was going to comment on first one that it needed a shadow or something and now u gave it the something.
