Ok, compare this crop to the first crop. This one has more tree, less mountains. Actually I like the stormy one but not sure they would go for it…Thanks Elaine foe solving my posting issues!
I like the "stormy" crops slightly better. They make the house seem more majestic with the curved path leading into the painting. The first one seems smaller and more like a beach house—of course, that's just my first impression. I like the shadowed porch on the top. Maybe you just need a touch more value contrast between the window pane and the white sashes? Or maybe the mountains on the stormy version need to be more pronounced to fill that corner. Anyway, there are things I like about both versions.
I guess I like the two in the middle with the ultramarine skies and more of the yard. But on a second look they are the same painting with different mats.
Never been a fan of only white mats. Especially if you consider matting as part of the artistic process. I really like the pinky mat. It makes the painting pop. Imo. Also, I think the value of the tree is too strong on the first and fourth. All I see is the tree.

ReplyDeleteOkay, I see the second non-stormy crop option now. I prefer the more-trees/less-mountains one, I think. It fills the space better.
DeleteHands down, the stormy one for the win - even with mat matching the redish tree. Otherwise, the stately house cropped.
ReplyDeleteI'm not anonymous, I'm pao, by the way.
