This is a tree that Constable painted.
This is the tree that Ken painted using Constable's image. Ken was not very happy with it. So he cropped seven views of Constable's tree, and painted each one.
These are all 5x7 and only the first two are done. After I have finished all seven I am going to do more work on my original painting of Constable's work.
I always enjoy seeing progressions and studies. Of your small studies, I absolutely love the second one. It has such atmosphere; I feel like I'm in a misty foggy swamp. Also love the blues in the last three. The sky in the final one is magnificent—just needs to have less uniform branches and it's perfect.
