One More Go With Edith

This is large and a lesson in going back and forth with changes to just about everything. I’ve managed to paint a different woman in each of my versions. Where the highlights were lost, a damp paper towel brought them back.

  1. I think this looks more finished than the middle sketch. There's a softness and gentleness to her that comes through. She looks a bit more worldly-wise than the first version but they're all obviously the same person--just in different moods. These sepia portraits are really nicely done!

  2. I wonder what the size is compared to the others. I think I prefer the less finished ones. It looks a little like it couldn't decide whether it was a straight on portrait or sometimes slightly turned to the side with the features sometimes turned and sometimes not.

  3. I like the steadiness of her gaze and the delightful calligraphy on her dress and necklace.

    1. Problem is that from reading text about her I know that the necklace and collar are Campfire Girl items made by her. Thus I know she was ateen and I have made her a matron.
