I'm with Ken on this. I love your drawings. This is particularly interesting as values are what's most important to make your painting work and this sketch really explores the values. Also, when they talk about painting "shapes" rather than "things"? This is a perfect example of that. Good luck with Claire.
I really like your sketches. Dare I say even more than your paintings. Not that I don't like your paintings, but I like your sketches even better.
