This is a bigger version,9x12, of Daisy Katt, in her pink cat bed.
Well this is another one of those dit, dit, dit, texture heavy, sort of a tree. Not yet done, just an exercise at this point, but I may be able to stitch it together. 9x12
First of all, I love that cat! Just the right amount of detail in her face and the rest is softly there. This is what you and Yupo were born for! Secondly, is that her name? Daisy? And the other one? And finally, I like the second tree better than the middle painting. I think the dit-dit-dit style is wasted on Yupo. It's interesting as a sampler, though. I'm looking for a "Cats on Yupo" series.
I think that the head should be more defined especially where it stands out from the body and the chest. Love the eyes but the blanket needs stronger values too. It looks like Daisy Katt needs a diet. So do I.
I like that second tree a lot. The mark making on the bark and leaves give it a lot of movement and life. And the varied background lightens it up too. You’ve captured a great cat stare….love her little pink nose too.
The way the cat is painted looks interesting. Nice stare. Maybe a little more definition of the rounded body at the bottom - a paw or something? I like the rug colors with it. The thing with trees is they have branches that come from all angles out of the trunk. Not just from right and left sides, and not equally spaced out. The branches are also different shapes and sizes from each other. Is there some reason you always depict them flattened?
I call them trees for convenience. I just like that branching aspect. I know they don't look like real trees and I am not trying to make them look like real trees.
