Added a bit of olive green to this since class. Just think of it as a Cornell Box of various brushstrokes.

Not that crazy about these two masterpieces, but I learned a lot and I had a lot of fun. Both are 3x5 yupos.
Ah, Ken, I liked that first one before the addition of the olive green. Something about the indigo/burnt sienna made for such a nice vibe and balance. It seems muddier with the olive green. Same for the tree. I really liked where you stopped in class. I like the new one, but I wish you'd just started over and kept the old one where it was as a separate painting. As you say, it's all about the learning and experimenting, isn't it?

ReplyDeleteLike 2,3,4, and maybe 5. Basically the blue and burnt sienna group.not sure if it’s just variations on one painting or actually 4 paintings but the mark making is very interesting in all of them.
