I decided that there were things I could do to my bayou painting to make it better. A lot of scrubbing to bring out the light and some other little touches. I kinda like it now.
After my successful hip replacement I decided to concentrate on drawing. I can draw without pain. Later I’ll go back and paint it. This is sunset on a bay and has some beautiful blues and yellows in it. I like drawing and maybe should have used larger paper. It’s only 8 1/2 X 12.
Glad to hear the new hip is a success! I like the bayou better now. There's an eerie quality to the light that's interesting. I already like the drawing of the house on the bay. Looking forward to seeing the paint go in, too.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the success of your hip replacement. May you have a speedy recovery and while drawing too.
ReplyDeleteAlso congrats on the new and hipper Alan. The bayou painting looks good. I love the honey mud of the water. Is it moving fast or just lying on its back? That change in color, I can't tell if it's a painted in or the result of warped paper.
ReplyDeleteI like the softness of the colors in the bayou painting. It’s very atmospheric. Interesting that you call the drawing a sunset, when it’s really an incredible drawing of a building! Glad you’re feeling well enough to paint and draw. Don’t forget to get up and walk around every 30 minutes or so…
