Did a little more work on the baby & mom painting. I think I’m going to give it to the grandparents . The top painting is of Andrew and Ruth’s new home. I actually put my iPad on the printer and copied the picture and printed it out.i just wanted a 4x6 image and it was so much easier to lock the screen and print it than try to resize it any other way.
I love bungalows. And this is the fancy hexagon style with the entrance on the side. Oh and stained glass details on the proud frontroom windows. Can't wait to see this one come out.
ReplyDeleteAnd you know I am no fan of paintings of humans but I love the mother and child. Mom's face is nicely cropped and her sweet Mona Lisa smile and the outstretched arm of the baby, and i know it is just a small detail, but that white S curve of her blouse makes a fine connection.
Congratulations to Andrew and Ruth on their new home. It's beautiful--and so will your painting be. And congratulations to you on that baby painting. Everything about it works--the composition, the colors, the value. It's amazingly rich and deep and reminds me of chiaroscuro Madonna and Child paintings. The grandparents are going to love it.
ReplyDeleteNow that everything is in it’s proper place, you can really go to town with the paint. Good thinking on the printing of this photo. I’ve never done it like that.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful starts to paintings that had a fabulous finish. Way to go, Sara!
