Peace on Earth….

Here’s the sum of my efforts for the past week art wise. Not crazy about the narrow mat on the baby, but I just didn’t want to go too big on the frame…the recipients don’t have a lot of open wall space….Wish I could photograph without shadows. Both are 8 x 10 frames. Merry Xmas to all!

  1. Sara, the recipients are going to love these! That's such a sweet painting--perfect for the season, too, as it has such a quiet Madonna and Child vibe. And that house looks absolutely heroic. Whatever you did to the windows is perfect. They are going to treasure that one, for sure.

  2. Yeah. The mat could be too narrow but not by much. It looks fine to most everyone. At least there’s a mat. Don’t you love giving someone an 8 X 10 painting and they put it in an 8 X 12 frame?
I like two or more colors on a window-reflecting sky, outside objects, and a dark for the inside.

  3. Another inch all around would've been perfection, too bad you couldn't afford another frame. But it still looks good enough. It's a great painting nevertheless. (I would have chipped in so it could have a bit more breathing space.) The house looks like a jewel being presented. The matting is perfect too. Happy Holidays to you and yours.

  4. I'm not much interested in mats but my worthless opinion is that the mona lisa is fine, but the bungalow is too big. I think there should have been some indication that it was built with bricks, and the top of that upper right window should have been on a slant like its sister.
