My favorite pot this summer. Took photo when pink Angelonia was in full bloom. Shortly after the photo it gave up but the sweet potato vine has reached the ground. Many parallels between gardening and watercolor painting.

I like this one. I like the flower and the siding behind it, but that sweet potato vine doesn't seem to be with the program.
ReplyDeleteThis is sweet! I love the decorative pot, the color paths and the contrast between the organic shapes of the subject and the rigid lines of the background. I wonder if that one leaf is a bit too aggressive Maybe it would help to have a few of them trailing down? Or not. Anyway, I like this.
ReplyDeleteLove the soft color palette,. The flowering plant is beautifully painted, but the vine sort detracts from it. It sort of leads. Y eye right ofutif the frame. Maybe you could mute it a bit in color.
ReplyDeleteShould read: but the vine detracts from it. It leads my eye right out of the frame.
