March 8, 2025 — Elaine O.

It's been a relatively slow week...in terms of painting, that is. I've just managed to finish this scene from a courtyard in Paris.

12" x 9"

Next week, I'm looking forward to starting the last page of a pad of paper as I work my way through my watercolor paper stash.

  1. I feel the same way about this as I did with my street scene on canvas board. A lot of work with some nice areas, but not excited about it. But a nice reminder of a pleasant time which is as good a reason to paint something as anything.

  2. I think it's quite beautiful, Elaine. Even the concrete in the foreground is wonderfully done and leads the eye gently into the stonework, also beautiful painted. And finally the chaos of nature.

  3. I think it would be better to crop in on the wheel, bigger with more detail. Building on the right is nice but it belongs in another painting.

  4. Its beautifully painted and I like the contrast of the green foliage against the stonework.
