March 15, 2025 — Elaine O.

This is the last page of a watercolor pad! Which usually means I'm so happy to reach this milestone and so excited to move on that I go in all devil-may-care. Sometimes the result is carefree and good; sometimes it's slapdash and bad. Here I revisited the dragonfruit and added some challenging surfaces. We'll see how I feel when I'm finished, but I think I like this (after some initial doubts),

11" x 14"

  1. Such nice work! I really like how you painted the dragon fruit and the pitcher as well as the cloth. The reflection in the can looks good, but maybe the rest of the can needs to be more uniform in color? All the stripes kind of overpower the reflection imo. As always, your color choices just sing!

  2. All the pieces play well together but maybe too much space in the foreground right. Maybe a clementine. No wait, I have it, how about a big blue plastic egg?

  3. I like how you are doing the stripes but maybe too much foreground with nothing happening except for them. Love the reflection but I don’t know what it is. Maybe I don’t have to know. Love the palate.

  4. I luv it. Acres of acid yellow-green cloth is fine by me. It can carry the weight all on its own. In fact, it visually balances all that's going on everywhere else. A breathing space, if you will.
