One of the lovely tomato flowers from that lovely summer
Probably the less said about this the better. I started out with that galaxy thing in the middle, but it didn't have inertia enough to reach the edges of the paper so I divided it into sections, but then I could never get them to play well together, Just a sacrifice sheet for now, but maybe someday I will get a Eureka moment.
I disagree! There's a lot to be said for the second one. I love the softness of the colors and blending that makes this feel like agate. The tomato flowers seem too controlled for me. They're missing the subtlety and beautiful paint movement you've been getting in your best Yupo paintings.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Elaine, the second one has a nice fluidity and all the colors work imo. The light blue one kind of reminds me of a raw oyster on the half shell. Together they make a nice set of bosom buddies…
ReplyDeleteI agree with Ken. Although you discovered some nice Yupo effects that would prove useful in other paintings.
ReplyDeleteI learn so much all the time that I can't remember it at all. I hope it is being stored in my subconscious and it will come to mind when it could be well used.
DeleteSame here. The 2nd one has some interesting things happening with the colors you chose and the way you've allowed the Yupo to help move the paint. It's so translucent and flowing. The first one is rather stiff, stuffy with brushwork and simple with just the 2 colors in comparison.
