Nice colors in those vignettes, but I wish you had posted a bigger image, can't quite make them our. Why did you put the cherries and that little grey strip of background in first?
I started with a very light sketch, then a pale wash over the cloth. I went in with the cherries and the dark triangle next—only because the adjacent areas were dry enough to not bleed. Kind of mundane reasoning, isn't it?
I just luv your sketches. They're really lively. And the your umbrella-ed workers look like part of Cirque du Soleil. Glad you gave a bit of an explanation of the cherry painting. I was wondering what was up with that. Was it a sketch? No, simply a just started painting.
