August 16, 2025 — Elaine O.

Another busy week in the neighborhood meant fodder for the sketchbook....

... and not a lot of time for actual painting. What's that saying about life being a bowl of cherries?

  1. Love your little worker guys! Your sketches are lively and filled with personality! Even that barely visible glass….

  2. Nice colors in those vignettes, but I wish you had posted a bigger image, can't quite make them our. Why did you put the cherries and that little grey strip of background in first?

    1. I started with a very light sketch, then a pale wash over the cloth. I went in with the cherries and the dark triangle next—only because the adjacent areas were dry enough to not bleed. Kind of mundane reasoning, isn't it?

  3. I just luv your sketches. They're really lively. And the your umbrella-ed workers look like part of Cirque du Soleil. Glad you gave a bit of an explanation of the cherry painting. I was wondering what was up with that. Was it a sketch? No, simply a just started painting.
