Not much to show today! I gessoed an old canvas or two. While I waited for them to dry, I sketched the morning glory weed patch from the alley and dropped a few background colors in. As you can see, not much to show.

Aside from that, I finally finished the address numbers on the front door, taking time to do a test run on the garage first...
...made some holiday masks....
...and a t-shirt.
And that's my week. See you soon.
Thanks for sharing the artsy everyday details of our neighborhood! You have been busy: the peek at the Morning Glory, the door numbers at the alley, anticipating holiday with colorful masks! On the 8th month of our Reset, your persistence in purple T-shirt is eye catching!
ReplyDeleteI like the purple t shirt too. Purple is so hard to deal with and you did a good job with it. And the garage door too, though I would like a little more color in it. And the masks too, they are full of color.
ReplyDeleteSo, that's canvas gessoed for watercolor painting? All the paintings have such a nice touch to them, even though they may be different styles or not even finished yet. My favorite is the garage, so simple and yet elegant. But the crayola colored ones are great too with their decorative elements.
ReplyDeleteYep, for watercolor. My jar of gesso dried out so I used watercolor ground. I tried both before and they work pretty similarly, so I thought I'd use the ground before it dried out too.
DeleteTshirt is great but I love the garage sketch — the fact that you included other buildings gives it context as a city garage. Which side is full of junk?!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Actually, it's a just little city garage; it barely fits the cars with no room for junk. That's why we have an attic! I notice the proportion is off and one side looks bigger than the other. In life, they are both the same—small!
