This is on half of an old Arches rough paper block. Works a lot differently from my regular Strathmore.
Another postcard. Experimenting with Prussian blue which has been mouldering on my palette for several years.
Have I mentioned how much I like this new series? I really like the values you're using to show the light hitting the seed heads. I like the reduced texture. While your color fields are still very active and textural, you stopped in time! And I'm hoping your experimentation with the Blues will bring you to an appreciation for Cobalt Blue.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, that "cute postcard" is more than just cute. Keeping the background as background really emphasizes your center of interest--and it IS very interesting.
The last two are very nice, I like sparkles of the rough paper against that dark mottled sky. A lot of movement in both; I can see the wind….
